HOUSTON -- Houston's police chief on Wednesday proposed placing surveillance cameras in apartment complexes, downtown streets, shopping malls and even private homes to fight crime during a shortage of police officers.
"I know a lot of people are concerned about Big Brother, but my response to that is, if you are not doing anything wrong, why should you worry about it?" Chief Harold Hurtt told reporters Wednesday at a regular briefing.

Proposed Legislation Creates Treasury-Funded Campaigns for the Two Major Parties, Leaving Third Parties with No Means to Run

A Message from the Chair
Strategy for Growth
When precincts are organized, the Libertarian vote is maximized and our candidates do better at the polls. In addition to statutory responsibilities for the conduct of precinct conventions, the Precinct Chair is responsible for canvassing the precinct and coordinating all campaign work in that precinct, arranging meetings, recruiting volunteers, and training and directing those volunteers. The Precinct Chair carries out all the Party's strategies in the precinct. A good Precinct Chair is the soul of the Party.
