    1. Vendor Option for Credit Cards – Kevin reported that he has located several vendors for credit card payments. He will email the details to the Excomm for a decision.
    2. Precinct Organization (Committee Formation) – Kevin would like to see a “get out the vote” campaign. This would involve promoting participation of precinct chairs to hang door hangers with the quiz and other libertarian information on the doors of voters who were not “primary” voters.
    3. Mock Elections – Kevin asked Candace if she could consider chairing a committee for mock elections. She agreed and Kevin stated that Michael Lee and David Finberg would likely want to assist on that committee.
    4. Upcoming Events – A discussion was held about growing membership. Danny reiterated his desire to use living history. He suggested that the party consider having different types of living history demonstrations during patriotic holidays, including involving the SAR (Sons of the American Revolution). He suggested that this might be a way to encourage the media to take notice of the party and thereby to grow membership.

A discussion was held about the Fort Bend County Fair in September. Several counties have agreed to join in manning a booth at the fair. The booth chosen would be inside in the a/c and would be worked at least on the weekend, but hopefully other days as well. The cost for the booth will be approximately $450.00 and Danny will be collecting donations for the cost. The booth will attempt to register voters and to sponsor a quiz to collect information and encourage membership. Danny would like to hold some living history demonstrations during this time as well as create a packet with a libertarian brochure, a copy of the constitution and the quiz. Danny agreed to take on the project of getting all of that together.

    5. Shirt and/or Hat orders – Kevin showed the group the designs for the FBLP t-shirts. The cost for the logos would be $5.00 per shirt with us providing the shirts. Kevin agreed to look into purchasing shirts so that all members could wear them to events, especially the September fair. Sean asked about bumper stickers and Kevin indicated they had had some at one time.
    6. State Convention – State convention will be held in June and will be in Houston. All those wanted to attend should speak to Kevin. Kevin is also trying to resolve issues about delegates and whether new members after the district conventions could become delegates. He hopes to have an answer soon. Kevin announced his candidacy for Vice Chair at the state level. He indicated that there were issues occurring at the state level which he could not support, including a bid to charge yearly dues ($50.00 per year).
  5. The meeting was adjourned at about 1:30. The next meeting will be mid-May.
