2. Accomplishments

Old Business:

  • Checking Account: As per my last report, we were wwaiting direction from Wes and / or Pat to move forward. However, no support was forthcoming. The IRS and banking regulations were deciphered and as a result the checking account has been opened.
  • ExComm: ExComm has been completely staffed and our meetings continue to draw interested parties.
  • County Membership: We have increased active membership at the county level from 47 at our last non-convention meeting, to 52 members. At my last quarterly report we were at 36 members. We are averaging 5 new members a month with an attrition rate of about 2 members per month. I have no explanation for the attrition but it does occur.
  • Begin monthly social gatherings (Diner Club): As a result of ongoing statutory responsibilities, I have not pursues this goal. I would like to see it become a reality in the future. (Carry Over)
  • Donations: We are accepting donations at this time. I will defer to Danny for a Treasurer’s report upon conclusion of my allotted time.
  • Living History: While not official, I think it in the utmost urgency. I would like to see a gathering of the “gulf coast” libertarians for this event. If we can get park space, we should make this a big deal. Let’s bang a cannon. (Carry Over)

New Business

  • Precinct Conventions: Precinct conventions were held as well as the County Convention. The County Convention went especially well considering that Robert’s Rules were enforced.
  • Delegates: Delegates were chosen for both the District and State Conventions. The District 14 Convention was successful at preventing Ron Paul from being challenged on the Nov. ballot by an LP candidate. State delegates are reminded that the State Convention will be held in Houston on June 10th. It will be especially important that the attendance of our delegates is intact from a personal perspective.
  • Fund Raising Goals: Oh well…..no goals yet. I will defer to Danny what the result of our fund raising letter produced. (Carry Over)
  • Candidate Assistance: Bob Smither is the only candidate I have had any discussion with concerning block walking or GOTV activity. However, the capabilities of our GOTV activities are better discussed in our latter presentation (during new business).

3. Next Quarters Goals
